“When I look at these photos, I see more than memories—I see generations of Detroit Style. What was passed down to me through my father and the skaters who came before us is now being passed on to another generation.

Detroit Stylin’ Skate Club is our way of keeping that tradition moving forward—honoring where we come from, teaching it authentically, and making sure Detroit Style continues to have a place in our city, in competition, and on stages around the world.”

— Patreze Brinkley, Founder

Detroit Stylin’ Skate Club trains skaters for performance, and competition in Detroit Style roller skating, born from tradition passed down.

Patreze Brinkley ‍ ‍
FOUNDER, COACH
Patreze Brinkley was born into Detroit's skate community, learning the city's signature style from her father and performing by age five. She went on to skate with the Detroit Rockin Rollers before founding Detroit Stylin Skate Club, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving Detroit-style roller skating and training the next generation of skaters. As Detroit style moves toward Olympic recognition, Patreze is doing her part to train athletes to perorm & compete, while staying rooted in the culture and community that shaped her. She lives out that mission year-round working with Detroit Style Board and as Chair for Culture Roll.

If “living the dream” were a person, it would definitely be our Founder!
